Self-guided

Fight Meadow, on your own time.

In summer the Fight Meadow Chalet rents to independent parties: drive the rough road in (high-clearance 4WD only), walk the 9.5 km trail past Philip Lake, and the meadows are yours. Self-catered, no camping outside the chalet — the meadows are protected.

Parties need backcountry navigation experience and their own safety kit — inReach or radio, first aid. If that’s not your crew yet, take a guided trip instead.

Why here

1.4 million acres, and the flowers know it.

Wells Gray is one of Canada’s premier wilderness parks — lush flower meadows, beautiful peaks, pristine lakes and untamed rivers. The operator has walked, named and photographed these blooms for decades; ask a guide and you’ll get the Latin.
